Clear Creek Golf will be located in the Badger Road area, east of Fort Wainwright at 1484 (7.5 mile) Old Richardson Highway- approximately ten minutes from both downtown Fairbanks and North Pole.
This project began with the idea of transforming 20 acres of hay fields and a buffalo corral into a legacy nine hole executive (mostly par 3) golf course.
Our goal is to provide about one third of our local population with a well maintained golf course that is closer to home.
Steve Timm (www.timmgolfservices.com) has designed an exciting new course layout with all nine holes south of Clear Creek.
SYNLawn of Oregon (www.synlawn.com/oregon) will be installing high quality synthetic greens for an entire summer of consistent putting surfaces and an extra 6-8 weeks of golfing season.
Our current strategy is to continue clearing trees and constructing drainage improvements with completion of one hole at a time. The greens foundations and pit bunkers will require extensive soil stabilization to prevent damage from frost heaving. All expenditures to date have been made out of pocket with no debts incurred.
We are building a walking nine hole course that will be fun, exciting and affordable for the average golfer. Each hole will have five synthetic tee offs that will enable professionals, men, seniors, ladies and juniors an equal opportunity to achieve par and sink a hole in one.
This is a work in progress! Check back for updates!
